July 7, 2016

Now just where to start… since my last blog with only eventing news to report, I will certainly be making up for it in this one with plenty of exciting new arrivals and lots to report.

So the horses have been going brilliantly and excelling in each phase. Many have now upgraded and made the next step in a good transition.

The novices horses in particular are really exciting.. Echo P, Silver Lining and Trendy Captain Clover have all been on great form.

Cruise On Inny feeling well to and shall make his debut Intermediate run at local Upton House horse Trials along with Greenlough Dave, who is back after some time off and ready and rearing to go to a party!

Sadly the beautiful One Misty Morning has gone off to his new home, where he is continuing to be a total super star and notched up a 6th double clear after only being sold for 1 week.

Sadly Indian Prince is also on the market, after much heart ache of trying to find a way to keep him its been decided he needs to be sold. He has had 2 fantastic runs including a 3rd in his last novice.

The girls and I had an epic 8.5hr road trip to Scotland, Hopetoun House, with Knights Escapade in CCI*, About time Too CIC** and Undalgo De Windsor CCI**.

UNDALGO DE WINDSOR

It was a very long way but thankfully the boys remained on great form despite all the travelling. Knights Escapade stormed round the CCI*, infact i think he could have gone round twice. He completed his first 3 day to place 4th which was very exciting for owners Susie and Jim Wilson.

UNDALGO DE WINDSOR

Undalgo De Windsor also making his debut at his first 3day, after a lovely test, a stupid run out due to rider error and a great SJ he completed in 13th place. But most importantly one step closer to gaining his CIC*** qualification.

ABOUT TIME TOO

About Time Too, was just incredible. He did an average test but made the XC feel like a schooling. He loved it. He too show jumped well and jumped clear to place 5th. He has also secured his qualification for Blenheim which has been my ultimate aim since last season.

BABIES FOALS AND MORE..

As if it wasn’t exciting enough to be headed to Scotland before leaving my two lovely mares decided they would like to foal, literally a day apart from each other and 2 days before I left! So lots of lack of sleep but well worth it. Two strong foals, Henry aka ‘ Time To Change’ sire Clinton, Dam by Carnival Drum. And a lovely filly Whisper aka ‘ Cavorting Whisper’ Sire Whisper in the Wind, Dam by Criminal Law.

With all the new births sadly it didn’t spur my sister on for the arrival of my baby niece before i were to leave on the trip.. instead lots of text updates but no baby…

Thankfully by the time I arrived home at 3am on monday morning I was an Auntie once again! My sister gave birth to a beautiful little girl. Poppy Jane Sheppard. SO exciting and pleased for both her and Bruce.

In other news, I sit here writing when I should have been out eventing for the weekend, another cancellation due to out crazy weather this time the poor organisers at Farley Horse trials had to abandon after too much surface water on the course.

At least the cancellation has given me time to get all of the horses at home worked and catch up with some well overdue paperwork and entries…

Lots of exciting plans being made for CCI*’s CIC*’s, YH classes and ***. I’m not one to plan too much as then things can always go wrong but its exciting to think how well the horses are feeling.

It also means that I have been able to put some work into my sponsorship prospectus, now completed I just need to be brave and send it out to people in hope they might want to get involved with our amazing sport! Watch this space…
