Royal Cornwall Show 2016

I’m not sure where time is going at the moment, it only feels like yesterday since I was writing the round up post for Royal Cornwall Show 2015.

Royal Cornwall Show 2016 was yet another fantastic year for the show. Unfortunately the weather did affect visitors numbers, but it certainly didn’t dampen the atmosphere.

Main ring entertainment

There was something for everything in the main ring, from show jumping and showing through to RAF displays.

Atkinson Action Horses, the equestrian stars of Poldark, put on great displays, leaving the crowd holding their breaths during some ambitious stunts – certainly crowd pleasers.

 

Show Jumping

As always, the personal highlight for me was the show jumping.  It was great to see Cornish riders picking up some great wins across the three days.

Talented junior rider, Sophie Jinks, took the Junior Open title with her cracking pony Ching Ching, and top Cornish rider Sammie-jo Coffin took both the 1.35m and 1.40m open in the senior section.

Cornishman, Andrew Williams, also picked up some wins, including taking the NSR Communications Open Accumulator.

ACL blogger, Elle McCoan also picked up a third in the 1.25m Horse and Jockey Bakery Grade C.
