With the event season now closed, it gives me time to reflect on the season and start planning for 2016!
It’s been one of my best seasons to date and the horses have gone so well. I’ve had so much support from my team and my owners have been brilliant. Each and every horse has made their goal with a new qualification set for 2016.
I can welcome two brilliant new sponsors Equicover Ltd, Equine insurance, as well as becoming brand ambassador for, Guardian Equestrian.
A few interesting figures kindly put together by one of my fellow helpers Laura Simpson (clearly working hard at Uni) but she found time to do some number crunching on my season!
I knew it had been a busy one, but I found myself …
- ‘Entering at A’ a total of 132 times, this occuring at 38 different BE events!
- Among these 132 starts , a total of 77 CLEAR Showjumping,
- 110 CLEAR XC,
- 26 completions on my Dressage score
- And, 69 Placings.
- Throughout the levels from Intro to Advanced/3 Star.
Not to mention how many miles we covered and how much help I had from my family and friends, and a very supportive boyfriend!
Next year I very much hope will be even bigger and better, but the main thing from this season is the horses have all come out well, feeling happy and confident. The owners, I hope, have enjoyed being apart of Ginny Howe Eventing, and loved watching their horses progress.
The end of the season has brought lots of teaching at clinics around the counties. Lovely to see familiar pupils and new faces at Farley Hall EC and Langshott EC. Two busy sessions this week but extremely productive. Look forward to doing more over the coming months.
Now with the ponies on holiday, I have finally finished packing… non horsey kit and I am due to catch an airplane in the next few hours – jet setting off for my long awaited holiday with boyfriend, Daniele Bizzarro, off to Sri Lanka, then the idilic Mauldives! Safe to say I actually can not wait. Will be exchanging those riding boots for flip flops and stockshirt for a bikini! But not sure the swap of a horse for an elephant will quite cut it… who knows!
