I am a firm believer of living life to the full and making the most of every moment we are given on this planet. Morv and I both love being busy and having lots on the go – so in true Abi and Morv style, we’ve bought a horsebox which we are planning to convert into a holiday let – when we saw it for sale we just could’t resist.
We’ve purchased a Bedford TL which has a beautiful hardwood Oakley body – I can imagine that in it’s day it was the Crème de la Crème of horseboxes. It looks quite tatty on the outside, but inside it has a white leather lined roof and varnished hardwood. It took me by surprise when I first opened the door to look inside it.
It’s such a charming little box and it’s clearly very well made – it’s also in pretty good condition considering its 30 years old.
“Lady Oakley” is looking particularly tired on the outside at the moment, but we’re hoping to restore her and convert to living accommodation. We’re planning on converting the box over winter to have her ready for next spring.
We will keep you posted as it develops.
If anyone has ever done something similar to this before, it would be great to hear from you.
